The School is based in Auckland, New Zealand, and is also part of the world’s largest private university group – Laureate International Universities. The innovative Bachelor Degree of Art and Design (3D Animation and Visual Effects) is among the most technically astute in the world. Using industry-standard tools like Maya, Mudbox, Nuke and Mental Ray, students create award-winning work.

The Diploma of 3D Computer Animation is New Zealand’s highest rated 3D animation qualification. For over a decade Media Design School students have won prestigious awards and gained entry to leading film festivals.

The Diploma of Interactive Gaming has been developed in conjunction with New Zealand’s top game studios. The programme is purposebuilt to qualify students for direct entry into the Media Design School Level 7 Graduate Diploma of Game Development (programming stream).

Media Design School’s Graduate Diploma of Game Development has been purpose-built in conjunction with major game development studios to produce graduates with the skills and talent to work in the video game industry. The Graduate Diploma has specialist streams covering two main aspects of game development – Game Art and Game Programming. Whichever stream students choose to undertake, the Graduate Diploma prepares them for placement into commercial, AAA game development studios around the world.
